    Pros +

    • It was close to the train station and had a lot to do around it. It was in a quieter part of Kyoto which was nice.
    • The room was very big for japan standards. Staff was very nice and the facilities felt pretty new. Rooms were clean, beds were huge and everything about the hotel was really nice. Location wasn't bad and I felt close to everything important. Price was amazing too!
    • Good location. Nice breakfast and facilities

    Cons -

    • The rooms felt a bit boring? But that's not really a bad thing. Room clean up is up to you, but that's not really a bad thing either I was only there for one night.
    • Smell of the bathroom
    • Bed was too firm, causing some, not a lot but some, back pain. Would suggest two pillows per bed. Also, our room's window opened up to a wall.

Loved the service, everyone was very kind, showed great care & concern. Shout out to all at the front desk for their help, especially to get additional bags to Tokyo.

    Great location, and friendly staff

The bathroom is an onsen style

The location is excellent, just a few blocks from the main Kyoto station. In Kyoto it is more usual to get around on bus, the main bus lines to attractions are very close to the hotel. The neighborhood gets quiet at night, but there are quite a few good places to have lunch and supper at great prices near the hotel. Then you also can easily access the Gion neighborhood for more options. The hotel is modern, tastefully decorated and excellent room layout. The breakfast was outstanding, with Asian and Western style options. Quiet at night and nice free amenities, they even will loan you items you might need -- like a travel adaptor for your laptop or nail clippers. Highly recommended !

The staff was welcoming, the pajamas they provide are SUPERB, don’t miss out on those! We loved that they pushed the twin beds together to make super bed, it was nice to have room to sleep and move about. This was the biggest room we had on our trip.

The walls and floors are a little dated and scuffed. There was some hair in the bedding, but the bedding looked clean so I assume it’s from housekeeping. I think they could have vacuumed better?

Beautiful hotel, super friendly and helpful staff, great amenities and hospitality, we were able to store our luggage before and after check-in which was a huge bonus. Close to convenience stores and other places to eat and shop. Close to the bus and train.

We had three beds and two of them were rock hard. We only stayed one night otherwise we would have requested a different room because we hardly slept, the beds were beyond firm. Perhaps it’s a cultural thing, we may be just too use to soft mattresses but they were more than just firm, they hardly had any cushioning at all.

Location easily accessible and was great. Staff very helpful especially in helping us find good transportation to Kansai airport with the highway bus. Facilities were great with good amenities.

Poor lighting in the room, difficult to see everything at night. Toilet / bathroom was smelly before we used them and had a strong smell throughout.

    4DeannaPosted on: 7-10-2025

    Bathroom was clean

Everything else was dirty. Rugs looked like they never been vacuumed. Sheet was dirty. I had to ask for it to be changed.

    The location

The hotel was very dusty, the staff did not explain the breakfast properly (you are not allowed in after 9:30 but can reserve breakfast from 9-10am). The breakfast was not good. The fridge was not very cool. The bathroom smells like sewer. The lighting was not that great, which in combination with the dark interior made it feel like you were in a cave.

Location , the room was bigger and comfortable, stuff was was friendly

    8MonikaPosted on: 5-25-2025

The staff was wonderful and the location was amazing .

The room was too dark . Black carpet and walls and our room was against another building so we couldn’t get light from the window. One of the light was burned out so it felt too dark staying there for 2 days .

Excellent location, good price and breakfast. What I didn’t like is that there is no cleaning daily for the rooms

First thing I loved as soon as I entered the hotel - the dim lighting! I arrived in the evening from Tokyo and was immediately relaxed by the soft music and dim lighting in the lobby. Also had adjustable lighting in my room which just sets the mood for a relaxing evening in after exploring the city. The location of the hotel was ideal too; it's situated on a quieter street - konbinis and subway access nearby but not right at the front door. Had a great first experience with luggage forwarding here as well - organized my luggage to be dropped off at hotel in Hiroshima and it arrived the next day! Fantastic experience overall.

The washer/dryer machines aren't the best at efficiently drying clothes. Had to dry my clothes 2 times to get it somewhat dried. I'd recommend going to a separate laundromat outside of the hotel for more efficient washing/drying. But otherwise it's handy to have in the hotel

Great location right in the heart of the city — perfect for sightseeing. Friendly staff who speak English. Breakfast was excellent and varied; we especially loved the Kyoto-style soup and steamed dumplings (though they weren't available every day). The system of booking a breakfast time worked really well and helped us plan our days. The room was modern and cozy — not very spacious, but manageable if you keep things tidy. Fresh towels and trash disposal were available daily, even without full housekeeping.Free luggage storage after check-out was a huge help, as we had a late train. If you smoke, there's a cozy lounge area on the fourth floor where you can enjoy a cigarette or simply relax on the terrace.Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would definitely recommend the hotel!

It's clean, tidy, and the ambience is nice. The location is near the subway station and bus station. The facilities are nice, like a microwave, free ice cube, and vending machine, etc.

The hotel is not big or small, but the equipment is complete. You can pick all amenities up from the lobby. It's not difficult to travel. There are many convenience stores around. Recommended.

The staff cannot make restaurant reservations.

The property was well located, close to train stations and a great shopping strip. Our deluxe double room was a good size, could open our suitcases comfortably.

The service wasn’t great. Room cleaning every three days is pretty disappointing for the price we paid, the rooms got messy quite quickly. Towels and bins also weren’t emptied until midday (and had to be left outside the room) so that was unpleasant to walk past everyday. The hotel breakfast menu was really limited (from a continental/western perspective) I really wished for some fresh fruits as I’d gotten sick during my trip but the buffet was mostly processed foods. The worst thing was the construction happening right outside our room every night, it was very loud and go on until very late.
